The curriculum of Phoneme Farm is carefully scaffolded to ensure progressive skill development. It begins with activities focused on discriminating initial vowel and consonant sounds. Once students have mastered these skills, they progress to more complex ending and medial sounds. Blending and segmenting activities follow, with phoneme manipulation (deletion and substitution of initial phonemes to create new words) being the final stage. Additionally, Phoneme Farm incorporates a rhyming component that can be accessed at any time.
